Metaphysical Proofs & Governance Models of Imam Mahdi's Global Civilization: Divine Justice in the Post-Scarcity Era
1. The Eschatological Imperative: Filling the Earth with Equity
Consensus across Islamic scholarship records the foundational prophetic tradition transmitted in Sunan Abi Dawud, Musnad Ahmad, and Kitab al-Ghaybah:
He will fill the earth with equity and justice just as it had been filled with injustice and oppression.”
This formula represents an ontological transformation of human civilization:
- Qist (Equitable Distribution): Structural justice in wealth, land, access to clean air, water, and computational resources.
- 'Adl (Moral Proportion): Aligning social institutions with divine cosmic law (Sunnatullah).
2. Eradication of Artificial Scarcity and Economic Sovereignty
Classical reports explicitly document that under the governance of Imam al-Mahdi (a.t.f.s.), the planet's latent biological, geological, and agricultural potential will be fully unlocked:
The earth will cast forth the pieces of its liver [its golden minerals, resources, and hidden bounties].” (Sahih Muslim, Kitab al-Zakat)
In modern economic terms, late-stage capitalism maintains market prices through artificial scarcity (intellectual property walls, planned obsolescence, and concentrated monopolies). The Mahdawiyyah economic framework replaces extractive rent-seeking with:
- Public Endowment Commons (Waqf & Anfal): Natural resources belong to the collective welfare of humanity.
- Zero Usury (Riba-Free Circulation): Wealth is prohibited from circulating only among the elite (Qur'an 59:7).
- Universal Solvency: Absolute poverty is eliminated to the extent that a person seeking a recipient for charity (Zakat) finds none in need.
3. The Unification of Reason and Scientific Knowledge
Rather than retreating into anti-modern pastoralism, the civilization of the Mahdi represents the ultimate leap in human technological, astrological, and scientific mastery. In Bihar al-Anwar, Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (a.s.) observes:
فَإِذَا قَامَ قَائِمُنَا أَخْرَجَ الخَمْسَةَ وَالعِشْرِينَ حَرْفاً فَبَثَّهَا فِي النَّاسِ" “Knowledge consists of twenty-seven parts; all that the Prophets brought forth constituted only two parts... When our Qa'im rises, he will bring forth the remaining twenty-five parts and spread them among humankind.”
This demonstrates that secular technological progress is not alien to Islam; it is an incomplete foundation waiting for spiritual maturity and ethical equilibrium to govern its application.
