وَإِنَّمَا الْإِصَابَةُ خَشْيَةُ اللَّهِ وَالنِّيَّةُ الصَّادِقَةُ وَالْحَسَنَةُ، وَالْإِبْقَاءُ عَلَى الْعَمَلِ حَتَّى يَخْلُصَ أَشَدُّ مِنَ الْعَمَلِ، وَالنِّيَّةُ أَفْضَلُ مِنَ الْعَمَلِ

ENGLISH TRANSLATION

The most correct action is grounded in reverence for Allah, truthful intention, and good conduct. Preserving an act until it becomes sincere is harder than performing it; intention is superior to action.

إِنَّ اسْمَ اللَّهِ الْأَعْظَمَ ثَلَاثَةٌ وَسَبْعُونَ حَرْفاً، أُعْطِيَ مُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ اثْنَيْنِ وَسَبْعِينَ حَرْفاً، وَحُجِبَ عَنْهُ حَرْفٌ وَاحِدٌ

ENGLISH TRANSLATION

The Greatest Name of Allah has seventy-three letters. Muḥammad ﷺ was given seventy-two of them, while one letter remains concealed.

وَاللَّهِ لَوْلَا عَهْدُ الْحَسَنِ إِلَيَّ بِحَقْنِ الدِّمَاءِ، وَأَنْ لَا أُهْرِيقَ فِي أَمْرِهِ مَحْجَمَةَ دَمٍ، لَعَلِمْتُمْ كَيْفَ تَأْخُذُ سُيُوفُ اللَّهِ مِنْكُمْ مَأْخَذَهَا

ENGLISH TRANSLATION

By Allah, were it not for al-Ḥasan’s covenant with me to spare blood and not spill even a cupping’s measure of blood on his account, you would have seen how the swords of Allah would have dealt with you.

He stipulated that the Commander of the Faithful ؑ not be reviled, that denunciation of him in prayers cease, that his followers be kept safe, and that none of them be harmed.
