Tafsir of Surah Al-Kawthar
Al-Kawthar reassures the Messenger of abundant divine goodness and directs him to prayer and sacrifice in gratitude.
Read Surah Al-Kawthar (3 verses) as a connected chapter: follow links between neighbouring verses and compare each passage with the wider Qur’anic context. The Arabic text and English and Urdu translations are rendered on this page before any commentary service loads. Use the source selector to compare available classical tafsir traditions; the Al-Mizan study guide is clearly marked as editorial notes, not a verbatim translation. If a remote commentary service is unavailable, the chapter text, translations, study introduction, and navigation remain available.
BEHOLD, We have bestowed upon thee good in abundance:
hence, pray unto thy Sustainer [alone], and sacrifice [unto Him alone].
Verily, he that hates thee has indeed been cut off [from all that is good]!
