Tafsir of Surah Al-Ikhlaas
Al-Ikhlas states the uncompromising oneness and uniqueness of God, rejecting lineage, dependence, and any equal to Him.
Read Surah Al-Ikhlaas (4 verses) as a connected chapter: follow links between neighbouring verses and compare each passage with the wider Qur’anic context. The Arabic text and English and Urdu translations are rendered on this page before any commentary service loads. Use the source selector to compare available classical tafsir traditions; the Al-Mizan study guide is clearly marked as editorial notes, not a verbatim translation. If a remote commentary service is unavailable, the chapter text, translations, study introduction, and navigation remain available.
SAY: "He is the One God:
"God the Eternal, the Uncaused Cause of All Being.
"He begets not, and neither is He begotten;
"and there is nothing that could be compared with Him.
